This year's annual Patient Safety Week will be held from Sunday 30 October to Saturday 5 November 2016. The Health Quality and Safety Commission (HQSC) reported that following feedback from the sector and sector 'ideas group' the 'Let’s talk' theme will be used again this year – but with some new and exciting twists! More information about themes and activities for Patient Safety Week 2016 will be available soon and resources will be available to order in August, for delivery by early October.
Patient Safety Week is a commitment to consumers and patients that our health services strive to provide the best and safest care possible, every time.
District health boards (DHBs) and other providers will mark Patient Safety Week in a number of ways, including the display of posters and patient information in hospitals, media promotions, adverts in community newspapers emphasising DHBs’ commitment to providing the best and safest care, quality and safety focused grand rounds, booths and competitions.
The representative for Patient Safety Week in the Northern Region is Jacqueline Ryan and more information about the national campaign can be found at: http://www.open.hqsc.govt.nz/patient-safety-week/
